About Boardoor

Boardoor is a digital board game platform where you can play classic and original card games online with friends or CPU opponents. No downloads needed — everything runs in your browser.

How Matches Work

  1. Waiting: A match is created and waiting for players to join. The host can configure settings like tempo, player count, and CPU options.
  2. Ready Check: When all seats are filled, players confirm they’re ready. CPU players are automatically ready.
  3. Playing: The game is in progress. Each turn has a time limit based on the chosen tempo.
  4. Finished / Aborted: The game ends normally, or the host (or last remaining human) can abort the match.

Tempo & Timeouts

Each match has a tempo setting that controls the turn time limit. Options range from 60 seconds (real-time) to 7 days (relaxed). When a player times out, CPU makes a move on their behalf.

If a player times out repeatedly, they are replaced by CPU. If all players become CPU, the match is automatically abandoned.

CPU Opponents

You can play solo against CPU opponents or fill empty seats with CPU. CPU difficulty can be set to weak, medium, or strong.

If you’re replaced by CPU due to timeouts, you can reclaim your seat by rejoining the match.

FAQ

Do I need an account to play?

You need an account to create or join matches from the lobby. You can sign up with email or Google. Guest play is available for direct links.

Why did my match disappear?

Matches are automatically cleaned up: waiting and ready-check matches expire after 24 hours, and aborted matches expire after 7 days.

What does “abortable” mean?

When a match is abortable, the host can stop the game at any time. If it’s not abortable, only the last remaining human can abort (as a safety valve).

Can I leave a match?

You can leave during the waiting or ready-check phase. During an active game, you can abort if you’re the host (and the match is abortable) or the last human player.
